Girlguiding Greater Manchester West is part of Girlguiding UK, the country’s largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women. It is one of 17 Guiding Counties that make up the Girlguiding North West England Region.  We have around 4000 girls and volunteer members across the boroughs of Salford and Trafford.

Our fantastic team of volunteers allows us to deliver an excellent experience for girls and young women. We help our members to discover and achieve their potential through a range of enjoyable activities and events, we enable them to make a positive contribution to their community and make a difference to the world in which we live. We aim to support both our younger members and adult volunteers

We are immensely proud of our contribution to our community, our members have furnished the welfare room in Pendleton Police station, have designed a plant pot In the Blue Peter garden, have raised more than £5500 for the Royal Manchester Children's hospital, have joined in with The Race for Life and have supported many, many other local initiatives. Greater Manchester West started the Comfort Bag Scheme in 2015, comfort bags of toiletries are given to those in need in several hospitals and hospices across the County. In 2019, we were honoured to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for the scheme.

We have lots of Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger groups across the County, there is bound to be one close to you. We look forward to welcoming you, either as a young member or as a volunteer.
