Ashley Activity Centre  is owned by Girl Guiding Greater Manchester West County and is situated approximately half way between the villages of Ashley and Mobberley in East Cheshire. 

It offers a range of facilities for holidays, overnight stays, camping, meetings and training.

Site accommodation: 

  • Ashley House - single storey brick building which will accommodate up to 28 people
  • Ashley Lodge - chalet-style single storey building for meetings, training or overnight/short stay accommodation
  • Ashley Campsite - a large field which can be divided into 2 campsite areas and access to camp toilets and camp catering equipment (for hire)

Both our main buildings have wheelchair access and facilities to accommodate visitors with additional needs. The House & Lodge also have WiFi. 

Facilities: 
  • A dry shelter on field
  • A campfire circle 
  • 2 altar fires 
  • A play area  with swings, slide, a climbing frame, roundabout, see-saw and a play house
  • An outdoor adventure area including a small wooden assault course, traversing wall and a park-style zip wire
  • Outdoor gym equipment for older girls & adults (situated near lodge) 
  • Various outdoor games such as boules and a table tennis table
  • Small games equipment for outside games including footballs, soft archery, hockey etc
Challenge Badges

We have an Ashley Challenge Badge as well as the  Busy Bee ChallengeButterfly Challenge and Ladybird Challenge which you can complete while you are on site. These must be ordered when you send in your arrival form. 

Shop

The House and the Lodge both have a small  shop, where visitors can buy both Guiding and Ashley branded momentos such as pens, stickers, badges and postcards. Find out more about what we have on offer by heading to the dedicated shop page.

Please note: 

  • The whole Ashley site is closed for up to 6 weeks in December / January for essential maintenance.  
  • Bookings open for GMW members in September / October
  • Bookings for non-GMW members open on 1st November

Booking Process:

To book Ashley, first head to our Reserve Now page to check availability and make an online reservation. 

Once you have reserved your dates, go to the Booking Process page to access the booking form. This needs to be completed and sent with your Deposit to the Booking Secretary within 2 weeks of your online reservation.

Please note: if you wish to visit the site at any time either before or after your booking please liaise with the booking secretary. Unaccompanied visits are not permitted.


Wardens

Visitors / groups will be met on arrival on site. Your volunteer warden will contact you a few days before your arrival to confirm that time. Visitors are not permitted to use any facilities until they have been officially met on site and should arrive at the agreed time. 

Groups will also be seen on departure. The wardens will arrive at the time agreed with you. Please be ready to leave at that agreed time. Before leaving, your warden will go through the departure check list with you to ensure everything is OK.
