Golden Pudsey Awards

Ros and Pudsey

Congratulations to Ros Bryan from 4th Sale Central Brownies and Guides and Natalie Austin from 2nd Sale Central Rainbows who have been awarded a Golden Pudsey Pin Broach from Girlguiding for their fundraising for Children in Need with the Girlguiding   Act Your Age Challenge .

Ros (pictured) was nominated as an individual to receive the accolade by members of her unit for joining them in fundraising for the charity in November 2020. The Brownies and Guides took part in individual challenges to total the age of the unit. 4th Sale Central Guides was 99 years old in 2020 and so the Guides took on 99 'somethings'.

Ruby and Evie, Guides at 4th Sale Central, said “they are very proud to see Ros receive her Pudsey and they love how she joined in with them in the challenge”. Her fellow leaders at the unit are thrilled that Ros' efforts have been recognised especially as it shows how supportive she is of the Brownies and Guides and how the opportunities within Girlguiding can be for everyone, both girls and volunteers.

Natalie was nominated for the individual award by one of the Rainbow's parents for all the hard work and encouragement she gave her Rainbows for their challenge of walking or running their age in distance.

2nd Sale Central Rainbows were also nominated for and awarded a Golden Pudsey statue for their combined efforts in the Challenge.  They are a new unit and had only been open a term before lockdown, they took on the challenge with such enthusiasm and it's lovely to see them recognised in this way.

Congratulations Ros, Natalie and Rainbows.
