HSBC Banking team enjoy Ashley

Sam Roden, Area Director of HSBC Business Banking Central Manchester writes;

For the second year the HSBC Business Banking and Corporate teams (who work out of the Spinningfields office in Manchester) visited Ashley. The objective was a team building exercise for around 20 people. It was a real mix of outdoor types who are used to camping and those ‘city dwellers’ who have never camped before. The kit list said they needed walking boots/wellies and one girl replied that the only shoes she had were high heels and a pair of trainers!!

Both times we’ve arrived mid afternoon and have entertained ourselves with a mixture of activities including a walk around the airport perimeter and through the Bollin Tunnel, football, rounders and obstacle races. In the evenings we’ve had food, drinks and music around the campfire. One of our group is a trained opera singer and it was amazing to hear her singing in the open air.

The first time we came we used the second day to do some work related activities and used the space in the Lodge, but this time it was purely social.

The feedback from everyone who came was really good and if we’re allowed back we hope that this will become an annual event - lots of people have said that it’s the best thing they have ever done in a work environment!
