International Trips

International trip to Poland

As part of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the largest women's organisation in the world, Girlguiding Greater Manchester West offers incredible opportunities for young women to travel abroad, experience new cultures and make international friends.

Our international trips and international programme encourage girls and young women to expand their view of the world and give them the opportunity to learn about other cultures and traditions. Over the last few years, girls from Greater Manchester West have traveled to the Baltics, Croatia, Nepal, Balise, Morocco and many other exciting destinations.

Whether you are interested in seeing the sites, learning about other cultures or making the world a better place, dozens of international opportunities are available to Guides and Rangers.

If you would like to discuss an International Adventure, please contact Becky Patten, our International Adviser at

My role is to encourage and empower leaders and young members to experience an international adventure. To achieve this, I will: Encourage leaders to complete module 9 and take young members on an international experience. Assist and advise leaders in choosing camps/holidays. Organise international opportunity/selection weekends where members will be chosen for North West Region selection and County international trips. Promote the benefits of overseas travel as well as events happening around the world in guiding which might offer opportunities to our County members.
