Going Away With - training

Taking unit members away to a residential event, is a highlight for many of their time in Guiding, and gives endless possibilities to the activities and adventures that can be shared.

The Going Away With scheme is open to members who have completed the leadership qualification/becoming a leader and currently hold an active role as a leader, commissioner or adviser.

This training day is also open to Rangers and Young Leaders who may be planning on doing their Lead Away Qualification.

This one day training session will give those interested in learning more, an insight in to the Going Away With Scheme and what is involved, including the updated qualificaiton which was released in November.

Sessions covered during the day will include the theory behind the following modules:
• Planning a successful residential event
• Administration of a residential event
• Managing safety and security away from home
• Making health and first aid arrangements
• Organising catering arrangements
• Co-ordinating a programme of activities for the participants
• The care and maintenance of facilities
The cost of this training is £15 per person. The charge is a legitimate unit expense and will include lunch and various resources during the day.
