Urmston Division create beautiful poppy display

For the 3rd consecutive year, Urmston Division have collaborated to produce something visual for the local community to commemorate Remembrance Day.

This year a paper poppy display was built in the window of an empty retail unit in the town centre. Large paper poppies and green cut-outs of hands to represent grass were produced by Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers across the Division. Purple, white and black poppies were also included to represent animal victims of war, those who died in conflict with their focus on achieving peace and to commemorate the contribution of black, African and Caribbean communities as servicemen, service women and civilians.

The display was built by our Rangers who did a fantastic job of making sure it looked it’s best and would stay hanging safely for the 2 and a half weeks it was on show for.

Well done everyone!
